Hanien Conradie: My work is about place and a search for belonging through relating to specific places I visit. Because I relate to these places deeply, I uncover the many concerns of our time: ecological damage, human alienation from the natural world and the resultant violence we inflict on our environments. But as with any intimate relationship I also meet the joy and beauty of these places through the reciprocal relationship we build with each other.
